Scope and Content Information
This collection contains a letter from Margaret Deland, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Richard Watson Gilder, editor, regarding a story she wishes to submit to The Century Magazine or The Atlantic, and asking for the address of Mrs. [Mary Hartwell] Catherwood (1847-1902) so that she could write to her telling her how charmed she was by her book The Romance of Dollard. There are three small engraved portraits of Deland attached to the letter.
