John Pendleton Kennedy, Navy Department, to B.B. French [Kennedy sends more formal thanks for French's letter and pleasant reminiscence about their long-standing friendship which he had sent from his journal. He also thanks him for his critique of Horse Shoe Robinson (published in 1835) and encloses a check for twenty dollars "for the poor people of Madeira"].
