This letter from John Pendleton Kennedy, House of Representatives, to Miss Phoebe Ann Comstock, Dutchess County, New York apologizes for mistaking her sex in replying to her letter and its accompanying verses about one of his books, probably Rob of the Bowl, published in December of 1838.
