Scope and Content Information
In this letter to the Editors of Town Topics , Francis Marion Crawford acknowledges their letter and agrees to be a contributor of a short story to their paper although he believes himself to be "a poor hand at short things of any kind not altogether too serious for this occasion. Indeed I have written but three or four short stories in my life." He also mentions that he is currently very overworked with his own private business.
