This collection consists of an autograph note, April 25, 1890, signed by Richard Doddridge Blackmore, Teddington, to the Editor [Richard Bentley] of Men & Women of the Day: A Picture Gallery of Contemporary Portraiture , thanking him for his flattering proposal which he did not accept, "having declined all such offers from those who have the strongest claim on me."
