Correspondence and papers chiefly relate to the family of James and Susanna Smith (Preston) McDowell and their children, particularly Sally Campbell Preston (McDowell) Miller. There is much correspondence and papers relating to the divorce of Sally Campbell Preston McDowell and Francis Thomas.
