Scope and Content Information
The collection contains a linoleum block cut of the University of Virginia rotunda, woodcuts by Smith, mulberry paper and boxwood samples, a Japanese woodcut instruction book, and cutting and engraving tools.
The collection also contains a wood engraving of the grey plover by Thomas Bewick used in his "History of British Birds"; a woodcut of "Taking Christ from the Cross" by William Allen Butler used in his "Oberammergau 1890"; and several Chinese woodcuts.
In addition there are several illustrations from woodcuts by Bewick, Smith and others.
