Mrs. Oscar W. Underwood, III, A.L. Hench's daughter, gave the papers to the Manuscripts Department on 1 January 1975.
Scope and Content Information
This addition to Atcheson L. Hench's World War II collection, (1936-1945), consists of 119 items, including the correspondence of Mr. and Mrs. Hench concerned with war, Mrs. Hench's speeches and programs for various organizations involved in the war effort, A.L. Hench's notes on University and community events during the war years, the Hench's ration book, Red Cross certificates and other awards, local and national war time publications, and newspaper clippings re the War.
