Acquisition Information

The Stephen Philip Holt Papers were put on deposit by Mr. Holt on 20 November 1964. They were released to the executor of his estate on 2 August 1974, and were re-deposited by Mr. David J. Wood, et al. in October 1974 for safekeeping and historical reference.

Scope and Content Information

The Stephen Philip Holt Papers, 1587-1934, consists of seven items concerning the Woods and related families of Albemarle County, Virginia. Included are handwritten copies of four wills, 1765-1810, of the Shepherd, Rodes, and Harris families of Albemarle County, Virginia; a copy of the marriage record of Sally Harris Rodes and Micajah Woods, 1808; and a completed application for membership in the Virginia Society of Colonial Dames, n.d., by Margaret Lyon Woods (Mrs. Warner Wood).
