This collection was made a gift to the Library by the Honorable Hugh Scott of Washington, D.C., on July 22, 1987.
Scope and Content Information
This additional group of papers, 1922 (1985-1987), consisting of 39 items, contains correspondence, invitations, newspaper clippings, and related papers of Hugh Scott. In the correspondence are: a January 24, 1986 letter from Robert Maxwell concerning the Committee on the Present Danger and the publication of its papers: two letters, January 7 and November 13, 1986, from George Bush, Vice President of the United States, pertaining to the Fund for America's Future; a February 12, 1987 letter from Senator Mark Hatfield thanking him for a copy of an article and commending his Senate leadership; and a March 13, 1987 letter from Howard H. Baker, Jr., chief of staff to President Ronald Reagan. Also included are newspaper clippings, 1969 and 1986-1987, concerning Scott; invitations from state institutions and ambassadors of foreign countries; and miscellaneous papers.
