These papers were given to the Library on July 18, 1986, by Mrs. Robert M. Hubbard of Charlottesville, Virginia.
Scope and Content
This collection of genealogical material contains two indexed genealogical registers, undated, for James De Ruyter Blackwell and Elias Edmonds Blackwell, and miscellaneous papers removed from the Elias Blackwell register. These consist of a letter from Elias Edmonds, 1886 and a letter from W.G. Standard, September 17, 1894, both concerning Elias Edmonds; an essay on the Colonial Dames of America and other patriotic societies; a eulogy for Capt. Elias Edmonds (1788-1871); a family Bible record for Elias Edmonds listing the birth of two Negroes, and genealogical notes and chart.
