This collection consists of 7 items, correspondence of Thomas Allibone Janvier.
Contents List
Expresses delight that there is to be a new edition of The Idylls.
Asks Stoddard to write Scribners and tell them to send the proofs to him, which he will proofread.
Discusses and praises Idylls of the South Sea; suggests leaving out one of the stories; mentions friends, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Dodd [Anna Bowman Blake Dodd].
Expresses joy that "Dear Boy" has written a certain letter; Scribners will be sending proof of the letter, lists possible titles for the manuscript, mentions the Dodds, Adirondacks, Dana.
Mentions the letter [see 1892 Aug 17], which will be in the beginning of the book and will help the book immensely; suggests cutting the last part of the letter; delighted that Charley has made another book; mentions his own writing about "Old New York" and C. E. Dana.
Asks about certain words as he is proofreading Stoddard's work; is going to "the mountains" tomorrow.
Janvier sends this letter to "Charley" as a suggestion of a letter Charles Warren Stoddard should write to Houghton Mifflin concerning a new edition of Stoddard's work, South Sea Idylls.
