Robert Whitehead was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates for Amherst and Nelson Counties.
Scope and Content
The collection contains an M.A. thesis The Political Career of Robert Whitehead by William Baldwin Obrochta, 1985; correspondence concerning the thesis; an interview with Ann Whitehead Thomas, 2006, by James H. Hershman, Jr., chiefly concerning her father; remarks by George E. Allen at the unveiling of a portrait of Whitehead; a letter from Francis Pickens Miller on Whitehead, 1960; and assorted clippings.
