Historical Note
The Swiss Exhibition for Women's Work (SAFFA) was an exhibition organized by the major national women's organizations in Switzerland. The first SAFFA exhibition was in held in Bern, 1928. The theme was to show the importance of female contributions to the social and economic activities in Switzerland at the time. A second exhibition was held in Zurich, 1958 focusing on "women in the family, occupation and state." These exhibitions were organized and produced entirely by women and the exhibition buildings for SAFFA 58 were designed and built by Swiss women architects.
Scope and Content
Collection consists of sixty-three drawings of the buildings for the Swiss fair including the collaborative work of Claire Rufer-Eckmann, Beate Billeter, Verena Fuhrimann, Jetti Judin-Mutzenberg, and Annemarie Hubacher-Constam.
