Historical Note
"Elizabeth" was a ship used in the human trafficking of enslaved persons and in the trade of indigo and unrefined sugar in the mid-1700s. Records from the ship are written in French.
Scope and Content
The records relate to the ship "Elizabeth" and contain six manuscript pages concerning the trafficking of 324 guinea enslaved persons to M. de Fleurian by Captain Audebert of the Navire l'Elizabet de la Rochelle in St. Dominique in 1750. The pages also concern the sale of indigo and unrefined sugar. They are written in French and cover the period 7 April to 5 June 1750.
