33.2 Linear Feet 83 boxes
1969-1984
Scope and Contents

RG 101-90 contains the administrative files of H. Lane Kneedler who served as assistant and later associate dean from 1969 to 1984, working with Deans Monrad Paulsen, Emerson Spies, and Richard Merrill. These files document in detail the administration of the Law School during this period and are particularly strong in areas such as budget, personnel, curriculum, scheduling, and building maintenance.

This record group is extremely rich in Law School history for the period represented because the files cover not only standard administrative matters but also special or crisis issues.

Arrangement

The majority of the documents was in labeled folders; material that was not labeled and foldered was assigned a heading in processing. Some weeding of the files was necessary: teaching material, some routine personnel files, printed material, job applications, and some routine University circulars were removed from the collection. The registration files were sampled so that every other year after 1970 is represented.
